Well, I've been using this same screen name ever since I got on the internet. "Khan" has a few definitions, but it's generally used in reference to the medieval leaders of Mongol tribes. And it's actually very similar to my middle name in appearance and pronunciation. I'm not Mongol or Chinese or anything, and it's been long enough that I have forgotten exactly why I selected this name.

Thank you Khan. With 31 views so far and no additional posts I was beginning to think this thread would be a non-starter. smile.gif

Sheesh, mine's pretty easy compared to yours, Jessefan. Lol laugh.gif The "CA" is because I'm from California. I used "cowgirl" because, well, I'm kind of like one. laugh.gif and "32" is my birthday. See, pretty easy. I just kinda put it in not thinking.

My screen name is 'PTPink.' PT comes from the fact I own a PT Cruiser but it is blue...not Pink. "Pink" is a nickname I was called during my college days...don't know why...maybe because I was sunburned all the time. The screen name makes no sense either but that's me. Hi everybody!

I suppose that my membername is one of the more unusual ones. I am a fan and long-time player of a military science fiction miniatures game called BattleTech. In the course of writing articles for BattleTech, I created a fictional military/technical unit called TekTeam Technical Services. Since I have spent quite a few years in the military as a military intelligence analyst, I utilized the designations of the intelligence section and its commander or leader to round out my screenname or member name. The #2 shop in the military is the military intelligence section. The #6 call sign is always the commander of a particular unit like a commander's radio call sign of Eagle 6 for example. Hence TekTeam26 means that I am the commander of TekTeam Technical Services' military intelligence section or department. I use this screen name also for my handles in Yahoo and AOL as well.

NoLeftTurn:

Conservative Republican with an extreeeem dislike for Hollywood style Elite Leftist activists (Robbins/Sorandon, Moore, Penn.....) and just plain dumb liberals like the Dixie Bi___es. wink.gif

Not that I hate these people personally, I dislike the way they act like they know more about politics, morals, real life and are smarter than the average American. Because you get to stand at a podium and have an audiance does not mean you are knowlegable about anything.

Geeze, don't they realize they get paid to make believe?

Well, like Kahn, I have had my screenname since I started surfing the web, my cousin actually thaught of it, when I was a kid I was always loud, so she gave me the name loudboy. I was kinda supprised to have plain loudboy cause almost everyplace else loudboy is taken.

Mine is a carry-over from many years ago when I did alot desktop publishing for fun. I made banners and signs for friends. Since going online in 1996, my interests changed and I rarely do them anymore but the nickname lives on.

I post as JetMaxx on several weather and storm related forums (Storm2k; Wright-Weather; HurricaneCity; GoPBI).

I'm a veteran storm spotter for the National Weather Service (since 1982) -- the dedicated guys and gals that monitor the skies and scanners during Tornado Watches, and make reports of any severe weather they witness (large hail, tornadoes, funnel clouds, severe winds, storm damage, and flooding) to the local NWS office so warnings can be given to the public...we supplement Doppler Radar (provide "ground truth" to what the forecasters are seeing on their radar).

I'm also an amateur meteorologist and a severe storm researcher. I've written articles about tornado and hurricane safety, and past severe Florida hurricanes for NEMAS and other weather related websites. I also wrote a review of the 2002 Atlantic Hurricane Season for my friend Lou Tursi (posted on his website "Lou's Weather Watch").

I've conducted extensive research into tornado outbreaks and major landfalling hurricanes of the past 120 years.....the hows and whys they occurred, why they were so deadly...and how to lower the death toll when the next "big one" occurs.
I can tell you why hurricanes Camille and Andrew were so violent...why the 1974 tornado "Superoutbreak" was so intense; what atmospheric conditions must "come together" to spawn a tornado outbreak.

A "jet max" is one of the ingredients that can lead to severe tornadoes....very strong winds thousands of feet above the ground. "JetStream" and "JetStreak" were already taken at Wright-Weather..so I decided on JetMaxx.

God Bless,
Perry

I use randy because, uh, well, my momma told me to! I have a lot of nicknames, some I wouldn't share, the rest would be equal to a zero. I decided to use the no uppercase for no apparent reason. I am sure that you have learned nothing about this, except some real easy reading. However! I am now considering a name, one that I think would describe me to some measure?? Where have I been? Where will I go? Who am I? Well, for sure I am not "Imus", I could be Imme (I'm me), Imyall (I am you all), nah! How about the one my Grandpa gave me? Big Ugly.. except I am only 6'3", 275#s. Not that big. But then maybe I am that ugly! I'll probably just stay with me........

Just funnin. I really have enjoyed this thread thus far. I would like to hear from "Blackhawk" because he (she?) always has such depth in their responses, and Soprano64 would be interesting. Maybe we can draw out Socdoc too??
