Capt. Ed at "Capt's Quarters," and another blogger, are reporting on the under- reported story that we are winning in Afghanistan.

The American media have all fled the success of Afghanistan and only one or two reporters remain to document Karzai's bold and effective initiative to entice lower-level Taliban to come in from the cold.

The True Story of Afghanistan.

Sherry talked to an extraordinary woman yesterday. This woman was home from Afghanistan for six months. She will resume her duties in running the ER at a local hospital and then redeploy to country. Sherry commented that maybe she should be able to get some time to relax. They started to talk about Afghanistan and this soldier said that the one thing she can't believe is how distorted the media coverage is over here. She told Sherry that she'd "be amazed at what we're doing over there" but that you don't get the true story told by the media.

It's important to report the news, whether it is positive or negative. Why is the media fixated on the negative? Do we really have to answer that anymore?

Will we ever get the news we deserve? Or just the news we settle for?
