On Feb 19, 2006 I posted a message titled Need A Little Help With The Board, I didn't go into detail regarding my current health but thought I should explain it a little now that the doctors have confirm it.

At the time the of the original post the doctors couldn't tell if I had Multiple Sclerosis (MS) or Mini Strokes, it has been confirmed as of 03/08/06 that I have MS. There are various symptoms of MS, some of them that are effecting me include weakness, tingling, numbness or impaired sensation, poor coordination, fatigue, problems with balance, visual disturbances such as blurred vision, spasticity or muscle stiffness, weakness, sensitivity to heat, mood swings, increased susceptibility to clinical depression, and problems with memory, judgment, or reasoning (cognitive problems).

They also thought I had problems with both carotid arteries and aorta artery, I am happy to say through multiple MRA's (They are like MRI's, but look at the ateries) they say they are fine and working well.

I also have compressed (bulging) disks both in my cervical and lower back, with the lower back being worse as the disks are pushing on the spinal cord also causing many problems like constant headaches and disabling migraines.

And last but not least I have High Blood Pressure and High Cholesterol.

Although with all of the above I can still live to be a ripe old age (half way there now), I have been classified permanently disabled and will have to find other means of making money to help support my family and to pay for the drugs that are sure to follow.

On to the treatments of the above: Because they need to concentrate on the cervical and lower back first to try and get the headaches and disabling migraines under control, there will not be any treatments of the MS at this time because the medications used to inject into my cervical and lower back do not react well with the injected MS medications. I will be getting high blood pressure medication as well as high cholesterol medications to try and control those.

In closing, if anyone knows of any Real work at home programs that do not cost any money, please send them my way. If you have any questions about MS, please visit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and if you can find it in yourself participate in a local MS Walk near you.

Regards,

Scott Drake

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have a younger uncle with MS,and for the first few years with it, he tried to not let it slow him down. Even after he wound up in a wheelchair,he took karate classes to strengthen his upper body and in the process also earned a black belt. He even became an instructor for quite awhile.

I wish only the best for you and your family as well in these times.

Scanner2 My heartfelt wishes are with you and your family at this time It's funny how we take our health for granted as though we are blessed with permanent good health, It is only at times like these that we realise how frail we sometimes can be. It is also at times like these that we need all the help and support we can get from family and friends. So i wish you all the best scanner2 and for what its worth know that people are thinking of you accross the pond in England - take care my friend.

Oh a word to the wise about home working. don't know what it like in the US but over here there's lots of scams around, make sure you check them out carfully first and never pay money in advance, after all your supposed to make money not pay it out wink.gif

Best wishes
