"PARKERSBURG — Wood County Habitat for Humanity raised approximately $12,000 during its third annual Charity Auction Saturday night at the Parkersburg Art Center.

A special guest auctioneer, former POW and Wirt County native Jessica Lynch, helped sell the first item in the live auction after receiving a standing ovation from everyone in attendance.

The item was on a patriotic quilt made and donated by Jewel Lusk of Parkersburg. Lynch signed the quilt and then helped auction it off. The quilt was purchased by Art Campbell of Parkersburg, who donated it back to Wood County Habitat."
