Greetings to all!
When we went to war I knew "our troops" were over there. They were a collective mass of soldiers, marines, pilots, sailors, and such. But when someone like Jessica and her story is brought to our attention it heightens our awareness that those soldiers, marines, pilots, sailors, and such are more then just a collective mass. They are all special individuals with a story of their own. I forgot that, until Jessi came along.
Today I bought three "Get Well" cards, one for each of my kids to send to "A Brave American Soldier" at Walter Reed. My kids will sign them and also write a thank you note inside. My favorite one has a little blond headed kid on the cover with his finger in his nose. The inside says "Maybe it was something you ate…. Get Well Soon."
I encourage ya'll (that's southern for "you all") to send a Get Well or Thank You card to a serviceman or woman. Let's not forget them.
Remember the Alamo.
