Former POW Jessica Lynch to tell her story

STUART — Jessica Dawn Lynch, a former Quartermaster Corps Private First Class in the United States Army, was a prisoner of war of the Iraqi military in the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Her rescue by United States forces on April 1, 2003 was the first successful rescue of an American POW since World War II and the first ever of a woman.
Lynch will appear at 4 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Blake Library, John F. Armstrong Wing, 2351 S.E. Monterey Road, Stuart, to sign copies of Rick Bragg’s book, “I Am a Soldier, Too: The Jessica Lynch Story,” and take questions from the audience. The book will be available for sale and signing following her presentation.
