This is from a site promoting a documentary called "Proud To Serve" in which Jessica appeared.

Obviously these are several months to over a year old, but they are new to me and maybe some of you as well.

Nice shots (ahhh...the simple joy of showing off a ring!)

I wonder whose dog tags she's wearing in that 2nd shot. No one ever said if she got hers back...logically, they'd be Lori's, tho, given the depth of their relationship.

That's a good question. Since her dog tags were found, you would think that they would have been returned to her. I searched on Google and Yahoo to see if there was a story about it that maybe had been missed. Nope, no story but I did get a bit of a mystery instead. Yahoo's search results gave me this page: http://cgi.warblogging.com/cgi-bin/mt-comm...gi?entry_id=585

It's a page of comments ranging from the time after Jessica went missing to after she was rescued, the usual positive and negative mix, nothing special except for one:

Comment by devon:
JESSICA LYNCH IS NOT DEAD. SHE HAS BEEN CAPTURED AND TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL IN NASIRIYA ALONG WITH THE OTHER POW'S THAT ARE LISTED AS MIA. IF THE IRAQI'S DO NOT ADMIT TO HAVING THEM AS POW'S THEN THE IRAQI'S CAN TORTURE THE POW'S FOR INFO AND/OR SEXUALLY ASSAULT THEM AT WILL WITH NO HINDRANCE FROM THE RED CROSS. THIS IS THE NATURE OF THE REGIME WE ARE FIGHTING TO END.

So, is devon psychic? Or a practical joker? Or did someone in the military or intel say something during a phone call home which found it's way onto the net, jeopardizing the rescue which was in the planning stage at the time?

Actually, on closer inspection, they don't look like dog tags at all, although the shape's correct. Look like a decorative pendant...and the design looks a lot like the POW/MIA logo.

I think the most logical explaination lies in Chapter 16 of Jessica's book.It does describe US troops fighting more fiercely in Nasiriyah after hearing that a "blonde captive" was being tortured in the hospital.Troops on the ground could have spread the word and someone leaked it onto the worldwide web.
Also I didn't notice any replies to the posting by Devon or follow-up questions so it could have been possible that it was inserted onto the website sometime after the rescue.

Maybe one of the gifts she was presented with at the event this photo was (I think) taken at. Remember her VFW visit ?

I think you're right...the article referenced her being given a POW medallion.

How would one get the documentary? Is it on VHS or DVD, or was it shot for a TV showing?

If you click "Order Products" on the sidebar menu at the production company's site, http://www.twocatstv.com/ they are still selling the documentary "Proud to Serve" on VHS or DVD for $29.95 + $4.95 S/H

Maybe a better price can be found at Amazon.com or Half.com or Overstock.com or Ebay. I don't see anything about any royalties for Jessica or anyone who was interviewed for the documentary, so comparison shopping is fair game. biggrin.gif
