Former POW Jessica Lynch Visits Clarksburg

Lynch visited the VA Hospital and RCB High School.
CLARKSBURG -- Five years ago this week, Wirt County native Jessica Lynch was ambushed and captured by Iraqi soldiers.

Thursday, Lynch was in Clarksburg at the VA Hospital to receive the Veterans Administration Quilt of Valor.

The Quilt of Valor Program has volunteers across the country.

They hand stitch quilts to give to soldiers returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lynch also took time out to visit with veterans recovering at the hospital.

In addition to her stop at the VA, Lynch also stopped by Robert C. Byrd High School. She also shot some television commercials for a local auto dealership.
