I was really surprised to see this story about Jessica. It appears she is scheduled for another motivational speech in Colorado in September.

Women who attend a seminar next month featuring Sarah Ferguson, the duchess of York, should be prepared for a day-long sales seminar, the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau warned Thursday.

Complimentary VIP passes to The Women's Conference went out to thousands of metro-area women. But "there's nothing VIP about the invitation," said Susan Liehe, a spokeswoman for the Denver/Boulder BBB.

"Everybody and their dog got one. If you go, understand that you are probably going to sit through eight or nine hours of sales seminars."

The event - presented by a group called Women's Conference - will be Sept. 10 at the Colorado Convention Center. Women's Conference is part of Provo, Utah-based National Training Conference LLC, which pitches work-at-home and financial training programs, the BBB said.

A representative of the company acknowledged that some of the speakers will have "financial planning" products for sale. But others - including Ferguson and former prisoner of war Jessica Lynch - will make motivational presentations, he said.

Copy that! I guess she still has unfulfilled commitments. I noticed in a google search that she's also a judge at the Mrs. America pageant. Perhaps she's doing a mix of online and in-class courses-like those that require lab work?

I do remember that her publicist, Aly Gregg, said that we would not be hearing from Jessica until after Labor Day. Your probably right about her schedule Matt. It would be great for her foundation if she can stay in the public site on and off. That's probably her intention of taking just enough courses for a full schedule and being able to somewhat make appearances on and off. I hadn't heard about Mrs. America. Good for her.

The delegates, from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, will converge on the world-famous Palm Springs Riviera Resort & Racquet Club for two weeks of rehearsals and preliminary competitions, leading up to the September 7th event. Judging the 51 ladies will be a diverse panel including: actress Connie Stevens; Jessica Lynch, the first POW rescued from the Iraqi war; swimwear designer Carol Wior; motivational speaker Jim Walkow; and Dr. John Mahlmann, Executive Director, The National Anthem Project.

She's figuring it all out for herself at this point in her life / career.

Her public appearances will become less frequent and more selective as her coursework gets underway, the final decision to attend college most likely arrived at only recently. Commitments made six months to a year ago will have to be met unless she has an option-out clause in her contractual arrangements.

Her understanding, as voiced, that she is today seen and identified with the U.S. POW community is exceptionally healthy. No doubt she has developed good ties and relationships with wise former POWs who have successfully developed their lives outside of the military and the public fanfare. Good guidance and direction will help her divest herself of those people and issues truly not relevant or positive in her life, and much of this can come from the former POWs whose interest in helping her is genuine, with no thought given to gaining anything for themselves in conjunction with a relationship with her.

It is fair to say, as well, she's become quite savvy as to making her own decisions and in deciding, for herself, what is important to Jessica Lynch and what is not. She is many things to many people but first and foremost she is evolving as a person with all that demands and means to her. This will be an interesting woman in another ten years, far more so then than now.

Gwalker,

You've made a excellent point! Over the past couple of years, Jessica has really become very independent and matured beyond her years for someone her age! When I was in college, I saw alot of college students who approached life and college like it was a game, with no focus or direction. Jessica is completely the opposite. Jessica KNOWS what's important in her life and how to achieve her dreams and goals!
